Today we are going to discuss the determined Indian Army Doctors executing an appendix surgery from 16 000 feet height in Eastern Ladakh. We often have heard that’s doctors are not just human creatures but are the God-sent saviors to protect humankind’s race. In a condition where one has to protect the nation, a team of Indian Army Doctors amazed the country when an appendix surgery was executed successfully between the snow and lack of medical facilities.
On October 28th, 2020, the Indian Army doctors made the nation proud at an altitude of 16,000 feet when they removed the appendix from the soldier’s body. The appendix was removed from a soldier’s body who was guarding the nation in harsh weather like Eastern Ladakh. Considering the soldier’s health’s atrocities, he couldn’t be shifted to the Army base; thus, the critical surgery was executed by the Forward Surgical Center (FSC).

The surgical team consisted of Lt Colonel, a Captain, and a Major. However, the soldier couldn’t be carried in a chopper considering the harsh weather condition to reach the respective Army Base. According to Army officials, “The three doctors had to surgically remove the appendix considering the vital situation and poor health of the soldier.” He further added, “This is a major accomplishment for the Indian Army as the surgery was carried out in freezing temperatures and on an urgent basis, they kept their hands steady despite being hopeless.”
Considering the adversities, the surgery went successful, and the soldier was announced out of danger and will be recovering soon. “It will be counted as one of the few surgeries that went successfully. However, the Indian Army hospitals are now equipped with the latest technology equipment and are fully functioning to treat wounded soldiers affected by the harsh-cold weather.”
Eastern Ladakh holds the stand as the coldest area functioning harsh weather that could make any human feel the temperature to its bone. Despite the extreme conditions, our Indian Army officials are brave hearts to sacrifice their lives to protect our motherland from enemies’ attacks. There comes a time when the weather punishes and tests a soldier’s strength, which results in fatal illness. Considering their selfless duty and their courage to live for the country, the government has built hospitals with functioning equipment pieces. Gen Manoj Mukund Naravane, chief of the Indian Army, has conducted several trips to the base stations to ensure proper clothing, food, and medical facilities being provided to the soldiers.
In a habitat that is challenging for a human lie to survive where the oxygen supply is lower, and hands are frozen, our army official leaves no stone unturned. In winters, the soldiers are deployed at freezing places like Siachin and Kargil-Drass sector to fight against enemies, especially China. To boost up their confidence and celebrate their talent, various congratulatory wishes were poured from all over the country. With low oxygen concentration and residing in a high altitude area, these heroes are the ones who should be celebrated around the year. Thus, it is because of them that we can sleep peacefully at night.
