Eiffel Tower serves at the nation’s pride, and such ludicrous phone threats cause panic in the general public. However, earlier on Wednesday, the anonymous caller mentioned his concern over the phone. The call suggested there was also a bomb on the premises which can put blood on the hands of the Paris government. Anxious officials reached the area and evacuated the place as soon they could on Wednesday Morning. Police blocked the streets, jamming the area, attracting the media’s attention globally. Thus, finding a bag filled with ammunitions can be connecting the dots to any terrorist organization.
Gingerly research was done around the area predicting an attack that is likely to happen in the future. The concerned areas were the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower and following the evacuation of the stations around the Triomphe due to a bomb alert. Recently, false bomb threats have been received earlier; most likely, the site was Lyon railway station. As a result, the investigation is going on and is directing towards Islamic terrorism. Paris has been in the limelight due to the recent incidence of humanity’s cruelty and death, where an 18-year-old Muslim man beheaded a teacher. The reason was the use of Prophet Muhammad’s caricature in cartoons and comics. Amid this social instability, Paris is at the center of the religious groups following Islam. However, a tour guide stated, “the evacuation was done in an ordeal manner without creating any sort of panic.”
However, this is not the first time Paris’s pride, Eiffel Tower, has been evacuated on an urgent basis. Similarly, in May 2013, 1,400 visitors were asked to leave the monument, and sniffer dogs were called at the site. As stated earlier, an anonymous call was received, which caught the police’s attention. Although no ammunition or explosives were procured from the site, a rift of panic and fear imprinted could be sensed in people’s hearts.
In May 2020, a climber climbed the country’s pride, and eventually, police had to take control of the situation. “Firstly, we have to stop the man from climbing above, and for that, we have to evacuate the place on an urgent basis,” an official told the media. Therefore, officials also stated that Eiffel Tower has always been an attractive point for suicides. Due to this nuisance, visitors’ planned trips were disturbed and who dearly anticipated seeing the tower. According to data, every year, approximately seven million people visit the monument, and this time half of them were left disappointed.
