Today we will discuss the Maharashtra Government’s decision to reopen the movie theatres with 50% occupancy from November 5, 2020. As we are aware of increasing crises due to the pandemic, the industries have been affected the worst. Considering the situation and bringing things back to normal, the Maharashtra Government has allowed 50% occupancy in theatres. On Wednesday, multiplexes and yoga institutes were announced to reopen as the government state.
As Mumbai was regarded as the Indian state with the highest number of Covid cases, Maharashtra residents have to be cautious regarding this new initiative. For the past seven months, the country was in a complete shutdown, and everything was put to a halt, which has fractured the nation’s economy. To initiate movements while keeping the virus’s fatalities low, the government has advised everyone to follow the guidelines for their own safety. Reopening institutions and industries doesn’t mean that virus has been cured; it just means that the government is trying its best to bring things back to normal.
Movie theatres, drama theatres, and multiplexes have been allowed to function in an operating manner. Earlier, these establishments were closed in the whole session of lockdown. However, the state government has also allowed the opening of bars and hotels on the condition that proper guidelines will be followed. Maharashtra government’s order stated, “… the undersigned, hereby allows the 50% capacity in cinema halls and multiplexes including the revised guidelines dates October 14, 2020.” Further, the order stated, “The 50% capacity will be allowed in the areas apart from the containment zones.”
Shooting studios, Badminton halls, Tennis halls, squash courts, and indoor shooting ranges will be reopened and processed. For International, National, and State level trainers and swimmers, swimming pools will be resuming their activities from November 5th, 2020. However, as far as the reopening of other establishments is concerned, their order has been extended to November 30th, 2020.
As soon as the news spread, the actors and the filmmakers were elated and idealized this change as a wave of happiness. It felt like rain on barren land, which was close to drought, but the rain quenches its thirst. Sanjay Gupta recently took his official handle and expressed excitement while guiding the general public to wear masks and keep a safe distance. Although Maharashtra has not the only state to unlock establishments, the Eastern state of India, Assam, has reopened educational institutions like colleges and schools where physically attending classes remain voluntary. Additionally, national capital Delhi has allowed the full seating capacity for DTC and Cluster buses to process unlock.
Looking at the climate of Maharashtra, 12 degrees Celsius variation in temperature was observed day and night. Therefore, doctors alerted that this variation can result in Swine flu. They further said that as the symptoms are the same, it would lead to confusion in the general public. As the statistics for the corona cases are concerned, out of 1.69 million cases have been reported 44, 000 patients have died. About 1.5 million have been discharged safely from the hospitals, and some are in home isolation.
