Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie What is it about and who is the villain

Toei Animation will tell the arc of dreams with ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie’, the meeting of the 10 Sailor Guardians against the dark Queen Nehelenia, a lunar adventure now available to all fans on Netflix.

If you already missed Usagi Tsukino yelling “by the power of the lunar prism, transformation!”, Definitely the new Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie is for you. From now on, Netflix has in its catalog the new incursion of the Sailor Guardians, produced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the manga created by Naoko Takeuchi, who published on December 28, 1991, the first volume of this saga of warriors with stellar powers against of evil. What is this all about?

In 2014, Toei Animation, the same studio behind Dragon Ball Super: Broly and One Piece: Gold, released the anime Sailor Moon Crystal, an adaptation more faithful to what was written and captured by the author in her original strips, eliminating most of the material. from their first foray into series form, produced by themselves, modified, censored, and cut for exhibition on the American continent in the 1990s. Judging from the first look at the feature film, the studio improved the flaws in its animation, because throughout the broadcast of Crystal there were many negative criticisms of the work of the illustrators, as also happened with the first episodes of Dragon Ball Super.

Under this redemption, three seasons were animated and counted the Dark Kingdom, Black Moon, and Infinity arcs, this being the last issue of Sailor Moon Crystal, in 2016. When everything seemed lost, they finally decided to continue the chronology and this film focuses on the fourth period: the arc of Dreams, nine acts starting with Helios, a pegasus in search of two warriors to help him break the Golden Crystal. Usagi and Chibiusa (Sailor Chibi Moon), curiously, would be that pair of maidens.

This small encounter takes place alongside the attack of the Dead Moon Circus group, villains looking for a silver crystal to gain control of the entire universe, including the earth and the moon, and this is how the first part of the story, divided into two movies. Last January, Japan released chapter one in theaters and they had to spend 32 days to know the conclusion, which will not happen in the rest of the world thanks to the lunar magic of Uncle Netflix and his audacity to launch the 160 minutes in one go.

Who is behind all this? Presumably, the evil Queen Neherenia, leader of the Dead Moon Circus, spreads her nightmares and manages to catch Usagi. The rest, if you knew this anime through Sailor Moon Crystal, it will be better to leave it to the intrigue, because the outcome is truly epic, although we can anticipate that it will be worth every penny of the money used to pay the Netflix monthly payment. All 10 Super Sailor Guardians together! Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Chibi Moon, Pluto, Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn, you can’t ask for more. If you’ve already read the manga, well, you know about the emotion expressed.

According to the newspaper El Universal, Patricia Acevedo returns to Usagi’s voice, so all old-school fans can rest assured and activate the language option dubbed into Spanish without fear of hearing their favorite heroine speak on vocal cords. from some unknown. As a curious fact, do you remember that Usagi was renamed Serena in the 90s? That was left behind, the original names attributed by Takeuchi are also respected, eradicating the Westerners.

What’s more, you can throw your dive into the memories with the dubbing in our language and give it a second look in Japanese with their respective subtitles, unless they are experts in the Sailors’ native language, where there is also a pleasant surprise: Kotono Mitsuishi, at 53, reprized the role that popularized her among Japanese youth in 1992, when the original Sailor Moon Eternal anime aired.
