SpaceX's Revolutionary Super Heavy Rocket Takes Shape on Launchpad

SpaceX has already faced four scrubbed attempts to launch its powerful Falcon Heavy rocket, and it’s not guaranteeing a successful fifth try on Thursday, December 28. The company is experiencing a range of setbacks, including poor weather conditions at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and an unspecified issue on the ground. The triple-booster rocket has been equipped with 27 engines, which generate a force equal to that of 18 747 aircraft, making it a spectacle to watch as it blasts off into orbit.

The mission marks the first time for SpaceX to deploy the US Space Force’s X-37B space plane, which will be heading to orbit for its seventh mission since its maiden flight in 2010. If the weather conditions improve, the launch could still take place on Thursday, but it’s not a guarantee. The company has already faced four scrubs in recent weeks, forcing them to reschedule the launch.

The Falcon Heavy rocket is a more powerful version of SpaceX’s trusty Falcon 9 rocket, which is used for most satellite deployments and flights to and from the International Space Station. The Falcon Heavy packs about 5.5 million pounds of thrust, making it an impressive sight to behold as it heads towards orbit.
