Calling all 2024 Jaguar Land Rover SUV owners with the Ingenium six-cylinder turbo engine! Important safety information has been released by Jaguar Land Rover North America regarding a potential fire risk.

The culprit? A faulty oil filter housing component. Let’s break it down: the housing, made with the wrong type of plastic, can develop cracks over time.

This allows engine oil to leak, creating a two-fold problem. Leaked oil can drip onto hot engine parts, greatly increasing the chance of a fire.

Additionally, oil on the road surface makes it slippery, posing a danger to other drivers, especially motorcyclists. Jaguar Land Rover North America is notifying owners of a potential issue with the oil filter housing in vehicles built between November 2023 and February 2024.

This defect, identified as recall 24V-450 by the NHTSA and N908 by Jaguar Land Rover, could result in cracked oil filter housings and subsequent oil leaks.

As leaked oil can increase the risk of fire if it touches hot engine parts, it’s crucial for affected car owners to address this problem.
