BMW is bringing back the Neue Klasse name but for a new era of electric vehicles. This platform is built specifically for EVs, unlike the gasoline-powered vehicles of the past.

The first to use this badge will be the iX3, completely different from the previous version. The outgoing iX3, limited in range and rear-wheel drive only, was built in China and never reached the US market.

The upcoming iX3 launch next year promises to be a major leap forward. This is just the beginning for the Neue Klasse, with six additional electric vehicles planned within two years of the iX3’s debut.

These include sedans, touring, SUVs, and even a high-performance variant. BMW hints at future Neue Klasse models exceeding 1,341 horsepower, surpassing even their most powerful cars.

While there is no official news on a convertible version, designers have created a fascinating concept based on the Vision Neue Klasse sedan.

While this convertible is just a concept for now, rumors suggest a possible production i4 Convertible by late 2028. Until then, fans of convertibles can enjoy the current 4 Series with various engine options.
