All New Details Emerge About Google’s Upcoming Pixel Watch 3 Ahead of Launch

Google's Upcoming Pixel Watch 3

As the countdown begins for Google’s highly anticipated August 13 event, more information about the Pixel Watch 3 has started to trickle in. With just over a month to go before the big reveal, we’ve learned not one, but two significant details about Google’s upcoming smartwatch.

According to recent reports, four Pixel Watch 3 models – GBDU9, GG3HH, GRY0E, and GGE4J – have passed through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on Sunday. Two of these models feature LTE connectivity, while the other two have only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. While this isn’t particularly surprising, what sets these devices apart is the presence of two specific technologies that have been rumored for the Pixel Watch 3 since March.

Ultra-Wideband (UWB) is a feature that has been highly anticipated for the Pixel Watch 3, and its confirmation is a welcome relief. For those who may not be familiar, UWB is a technology that enables high-accuracy tracking and location-based services. It’s likely that Google will utilize UWB for easier phone unlocking when the Pixel Watch 3 is connected to a Pixel smartphone. Additionally, it’s also possible that Google could enable a high-accuracy tracking feature, similar to Precision Finding on the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, in case you misplace your Pixel Watch 3 or Pixel phone.

Google’s Upcoming Pixel Watch 3

The second technology mentioned is 5GHz Wi-Fi, which is a significant upgrade from the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi found in the original Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2. The inclusion of 5GHz Wi-Fi should enable faster overall data performance on the Pixel Watch 3, making it an attractive option for those who rely on their smartwatch for wireless connectivity.

While these two technologies are certainly exciting, there’s more to look forward to with the Pixel Watch 3. It appears that Google will finally offer its smartwatch in two sizes, including the regular Pixel Watch 3 and a larger Pixel Watch 3 XL. Although the overall design of the Pixel Watch 3 looks similar to its predecessors, the addition of a second size is a significant development.

As we draw closer to the August 13 event, more rumors and leaks are bound to emerge, providing us with a clearer picture of what to expect from the Pixel Watch 3. With the confirmation of UWB and 5GHz Wi-Fi, it’s clear that Google is committed to delivering a smartwatch that packs a punch. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the Pixel Watch series or just looking for a new smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 3 is sure to be a significant player in the market once it launches.
