After five years of meticulous work, Team FOLON has launched their eagerly awaited “DLC-sized” mod for Fallout 4, called Fallout London. The mod immerses players in a post-apocalyptic London, complete with classic elements such as double-decker buses and irradiated football hooligans, providing a distinctly British take on the Fallout universe.

The mod, led by Dean “Prilladog” Carter and a team of over 100 hobbyists, showcases an impressive scope that rivals the original Fallout 4 game. Although not officially affiliated with Bethesda, the creators have made Fallout London available for free download on GoG. The extensive size and intricate detail of the mod represent a remarkable accomplishment in user-generated content.

Fallout London also features a notable voice cast, including Neil Newbon, who won The Game Award for his role in Baldur’s Gate 3, and John Bercow, former Speaker of the House of Commons, who voices the mod’s robotic Speaker of the House. This star-studded cast adds a layer of professional polish to the ambitious project, enhancing its appeal and immersion for players.

Originally slated for release on April 23, 2024, Fallout London’s launch was delayed due to Bethesda’s next-gen update for Fallout 4, pushing the release date to July 25, 2024. The mod offers a fresh perspective by setting the Fallout narrative in a new, non-American context, something that Todd Howard of Bethesda has ruled out for official future installments of the series.

Despite the growing trend of gaming companies incorporating monetization programs for user-generated content, Bethesda does not have such a system for its modding community. Fallout London stands as a testament to the passion and dedication of fans, highlighting their willingness to contribute to the gaming world purely out of love for the franchise, without financial incentives.
