AMD Confirms Lower Prices for Ryzen 9000 Processors, Launching August, Significantly Cheaper Than Previous Generation.

AMD has officially confirmed that the leaked prices for its upcoming Ryzen 9000 desktop processors, as reported by Best Buy, are accurate. These prices reflect a notable decrease compared to the previous generation, which is an unexpected move in today’s market. This pricing strategy is likely to attract attention from consumers and system builders alike.

The new pricing structure includes the Ryzen 7 9700X, which will be available for $359, down $40 from the Ryzen 7 7700X. Similarly, the Ryzen 5 9600X will be priced at $279, a $20 reduction from its predecessor, the Ryzen 5 7600X. Both processors are set to launch on August 8.

Following a week later, on August 15, AMD will release the Ryzen 9 9950X at $649 and the Ryzen 7 9900X at $499. These models are also cheaper than their 7000-series counterparts by $50 each. While the final prices are slightly higher than the initial leaks suggested, the reduction is still significant and welcomed by the market.

AMD initially announced the Ryzen 9000 series in June at Computex, with plans to release by the end of July. However, the launch was delayed to ensure quality and resolve any outstanding issues. Despite the delay, the price reductions are a rare and positive development, particularly given the current economic climate where price increases are more common.
