EA and BioWare are set to release the next installment in the Dragon Age series, a decade after Dragon Age: Inquisition. The new game, titled Dragon Age: The Veilguard, has been generating excitement with recent showcases of its gameplay, graphics, and storyline. BioWare has confirmed the release date and provided details about the PC system requirements, building anticipation among fans.
The game is slated for release on October 31, according to a new trailer. BioWare plans to release additional updates in the lead-up to the launch, offering more information about the game’s features and content. This ongoing marketing effort is designed to keep players informed and engaged as the release date approaches.
Originally called Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, the game has been renamed to Dragon Age: The Veilguard to highlight the seven companions players will encounter. These companions come from various factions and will play significant roles in the story, reflecting the game’s focus on diverse characters and narratives.
Initial speculation suggested that Solas, a character from Dragon Age: Inquisition, would be the main antagonist in The Veilguard. However, recent footage reveals a more complex storyline featuring multiple antagonists, promising a richer and more nuanced narrative experience.
The Veilguard will be available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, the EA App, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles. The standard edition is priced at $60 on PC and $70 on consoles, with a deluxe edition costing $80 and including extra in-game cosmetics. A $150 bundle will also be offered, featuring physical items like a dagger and cards but not the game itself.
The system requirements are fairly modest, with a need for 16 GB of RAM and 100 GB of storage, and compatibility with older GPUs. BioWare will reveal further details about the game’s console and PC versions in August, including an in-depth look at the companions and exclusive coverage from IGN starting September 3.
