Don’t Nod, known for its acclaimed Life is Strange series, is set to release its new game, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, in two parts. The first installment, Tape 1, will be available on February 18, 2025, followed by Tape 2 exactly one month later on March 18, 2025. The game’s release has been scheduled for early 2025 to avoid overlap with the new Life is Strange title being developed by Square Enix and Deck Nine Games, which is expected to launch in October 2024.
The delay in the release of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage from late 2024 to early 2025 is strategic. It is aimed at ensuring the new game does not compete directly with Life is Strange: Double Exposure, which might draw away a similar audience. This scheduling allows fans to enjoy both games without the pressure of overlapping releases.
The first gameplay trailer for Lost Records: Bloom & Rage has been revealed, showcasing the game’s unique feature of switching between two timelines—1995 and 2022. The game will include a dynamic dialog system where player choices and interactions influence the story, with different outcomes based on how players engage with the game world.
The game will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. However, there is no information yet regarding a potential release on the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, Don’t Nod has announced that physical copies for PS5 will be released, though no specific date has been set for these.
Attendees of Gamescom 2024 can visit Don’t Nod’s booth in the B2B and B2C areas to experience a themed photo booth related to Lost Records: Bloom & Rage and possibly take home a memorable keepsake.
