Hisense Introduces L9Q Laser TV Projector with 150-Inch Display, Cutting-Edge Features, and Stunning Design

Hisense has introduced the L9Q, a new laser TV projector designed to deliver a massive 150-inch display with cutting-edge technology. Marketed as “the largest and most flexible laser TV on the market,” the L9Q boasts a proprietary TriChroma triple-laser light engine.

This innovation enables it to achieve 110% of the BT.2020 color space, setting a new benchmark for color accuracy in professional video standards. With brightness levels of up to 5,000 lumens and a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, the L9Q promises a visually stunning and vibrant experience.

The projector incorporates Hisense’s ambient light rejection (ALR) technology, which ensures excellent image quality even in bright rooms. This feature is particularly beneficial for watching live sports events like the Super Bowl or basketball games during March Madness, maintaining color fidelity and sharpness regardless of lighting conditions.

The ALR screen, a hallmark of previous models, is further refined in the L9Q, enhancing its appeal as a television replacement. Additionally, the projector includes a 6.2.2-channel speaker system inspired by the acoustics of Roman amphitheaters, offering immersive audio with Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual X, and eARC compatibility.

In terms of design, the L9Q emphasizes luxury with its sleek black walnut décor panel, brushed metal finishes, and intricate Clous de Paris texture. The elegant craftsmanship complements its advanced functionality, making it a stylish centerpiece for home entertainment setups.

Powered by Google TV, the projector provides access to over 800 free channels, 10,000 apps, and popular streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+. Integrated voice assistant support with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomeKit enhances convenience, allowing users to control content and settings effortlessly.

Technological advancements in the L9Q extend to its connectivity and visual performance. Features like Wi-Fi 6E and NEXTGEN TV (ATSC 3.0) ensure compatibility with modern devices and formats, though the absence of HDMI 2.2 is noted as a potential limitation for future-proofing. Leveraging nanoscale light enhancement technology, the projector achieves a remarkable 1,500 nits of full-screen brightness, a first for the laser TV industry, delivering cinema-grade visuals in any environment.

Pricing for the L9Q has yet to be announced, but it is expected to surpass the $6,500 price of its predecessor, the L9H. With its combination of innovative technology, exceptional performance, and premium design, the L9Q positions itself as a leading option in the high-end home theater market, setting the stage for its showcase at CES 2025.
