Thanks to fresh renders from OnLeaks and 91Mobiles, we now have a clearer idea of what the successor to the original Switch might look like. The updated console will reportedly keep the familiar design of the original but will feature a larger 8.4-inch screen. This screen is likely to be an OLED panel, contrary to previous reports suggesting an LCD display.
The top of the Switch 2, as depicted in the renders, will have several familiar features, including a power button, volume rocker, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a game card slot. A notable new addition is the inclusion of a USB-C port, which will replace the older USB connection.
The renders also hint at a mysterious sensor on the device, potentially an ambient light sensor, though its exact function remains speculative. Additionally, the device will come with a U-shaped kickstand, a design element that has surfaced in other leaks.
In terms of the Joy-Cons, the new renders show an intriguing change. The right Joy-Con will have a second button, although its placement is uncertain.
