Eufy’s newest security camera, the S3 Pro, boasts advanced features like radar motion sensing for more accurate alerts and the ability to record continuously when wired. It includes free facial recognition, pet, vehicle, and package detection, and offers locally stored video with no monthly fees.

The S3 Pro also introduces Apple Home compatibility and integrates with Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video service, making it the first Eufy camera to do so since 2019, expanding its smart home ecosystem.

The S3 Pro comes as a two-camera bundle with Eufy’s HomeBase S380 for $549.99, with the option to buy additional cameras separately. The HomeBase 3 unit allows local storage and advanced smart alerts, with 16GB of onboard storage that can be expanded up to 16TB.

It connects the camera to Apple Home, marking a step forward in Apple integration for Eufy. According to Eufy’s spokesperson, future devices will also support Apple Home, and older devices may be included through software updates.

A standout feature of the S3 Pro is its MaxColor Vision technology, which provides color night vision without using a spotlight. This feature promises to deliver high-quality, day-like footage even in pitch-black conditions.

Powered by a 1/1.8-inch CMOS sensor and AI-enhanced image signal processing, MaxColor Vision was demonstrated at the IFA tech show in Berlin, impressing viewers with its clarity and brightness in a completely dark environment.

For motion detection, the S3 Pro uses dual radar sensing and passive infrared (PIR) technology, which improves accuracy and significantly reduces false alarms, such as those triggered by moving trees or animals. Eufy claims this new detection system can reduce false alerts by up to 99%. The camera also includes a motion-activated spotlight that adjusts based on ambient light and can be controlled manually via the app.

The S3 Pro is equipped with a 13,000mAh battery, which can last up to a year on a single charge, thanks to its built-in solar panel. This panel, now 50% larger than previous models, can keep the camera fully charged with just an hour of sunlight daily. An additional external solar panel is included for setups where the camera is installed in shaded areas, ensuring consistent power.

Other notable features of the S3 Pro include 4K video resolution, two-way audio, a 100dB siren, motion-activated voice warnings, and IP67 weatherproofing. It also supports Google Home and Amazon Alexa, offering broad integration across smart home platforms. Eufy has made recent efforts to improve its security measures after facing privacy concerns in 2022, working with a cybersecurity expert to meet industry benchmarks and committing to higher privacy standards.
