The Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones, particularly in the Lunar Blue colorway, are currently available on Amazon for $329, down from the usual $429 price. This discount is $100 off the MSRP and marks a return to the all-time low price.

While this deal was briefly available for all colors during Amazon’s fall sale, only the Lunar Blue version remains discounted now. This colorway may be a limited edition, which could explain the price drop, or it could be a strategic post-October Prime Day promotion.

One of the primary upgrades with the QuietComfort Ultra model is the inclusion of Bose’s spatial audio technology, called Immersive Audio. Unlike other spatial audio systems, Bose’s version works with all types of audio content, not just formats specifically engineered for it, like Dolby Atmos or Sony’s 360 Reality Audio.

However, its effectiveness can vary. While it enhances some audio experiences, it doesn’t always deliver consistent results due to its reliance on signal processing rather than custom audio formats.

From a design perspective, Bose made a few noticeable changes. The Ultra version features a single multifunction button instead of the previous three-button setup for playback and mode control.

A touch-sensitive strip now handles volume adjustments, and Bose swapped some plastic elements for metal, adding a more premium feel to the headphones. Despite these tweaks, the comfort level remains as high as in previous models, especially for long listening sessions.

In terms of audio quality, the QuietComfort Ultra headphones show improvements over the standard QuietComfort model. Even without the spatial audio engaged, the sound is warmer and clearer, giving users a more refined listening experience.

Bose’s signature noise cancellation remains top-tier, maintaining the brand’s reputation for excelling in this feature. The improvements in sound quality help make the Ultra model a worthy upgrade in terms of audio performance alone.

Although the QuietComfort Ultra model typically costs $100 more than the standard QuietComfort headphones, the current discount on the Lunar Blue version narrows the gap.

In fact, the Ultra is currently $20 cheaper than the standard QuietComfort headphones. This makes it a compelling option for buyers who want to try out Bose’s spatial audio technology and enjoy the updated design without the usual price premium.
