The issue lies in the fact that Google is offering significantly lower trade-in values for its own phones compared to those from Apple and Samsung. For instance, the Pixel 7 Pro, which is just a year old and once retailed for $899, can be traded in for up to $420, while the iPhone 14 Pro can fetch up to $750. This disparity is particularly egregious for older Pixels, with the Pixel 6 Pro valued at only $400, compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which can be traded in for up to $650.

These meager trade-in values have left many Pixel owners feeling frustrated and betrayed. On social media and online forums, fans are expressing their disappointment and even anger towards Google for not showing more love to its own loyal customer base. Some are comparing Google’s trade-in deals to those offered by its competitors, pointing out that the company is prioritizing newcomers over its own loyal followers. This perceived lack of support for the Pixel ecosystem has led many to question whether Google truly values its relationship with its customer base.

Some have suggested that Google’s strategy may be to attract new customers from the iPhone and Samsung camps, offering trade-in deals that are more generous for those phones. While this may be a logical approach, it has come at the expense of loyal Pixel owners who feel undervalued and neglected. Google’s failure to support its own ecosystem could ultimately backfire, as it may drive away its loyal customers and undermine the very loyalty that has driven the brand’s growth.
