Many PlayStation users faced connectivity issues when trying to access online features on Friday evening. Reports of the outage began flooding Downdetector around 6 p.m. ET, with nearly 70,000 users experiencing problems. Sony has yet to release an official statement addressing the issue.
According to Sony’s PlayStation Network status page, the outage affected multiple services, including the online friends list, account management, PlayStation Store, PlayStation Direct, and online gaming. The disruption reportedly started around 7 p.m. ET, and Sony assured users they were working on a fix as soon as possible.

The issue extends across multiple PlayStation platforms, including PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5, and the web. Players attempting to log in on their consoles are met with an error message stating, “PlayStation Network is currently undergoing maintenance (WS-37432-9).” Unfortunately, the only available options are to dismiss the message or visit PlayStation’s website for support.
At this time, no further updates have been provided regarding the cause of the outage or an estimated time for resolution. Sony has acknowledged the problem through its Ask PlayStation Twitter account, directing users to its website for more details.
