Private Astronaut Marcus Wandt Captures Stunning Views from the ISS

As part of the Axiom-3 mission, private astronaut Marcus Wandt is currently residing in the International Space Station (ISS) with his three fellow crewmembers. During his two-week stay, Wandt has been conducting science research, participating in outreach events, and capturing stunning images of the inside and outside of the ISS. In a social media post, Wandt shared his breathtaking view of the Earth, stating “Isn’t she pretty?”

Wandt’s photographs showcase the incredible vantage point offered by the ISS, 250 miles above Earth. The images reveal the majesty of the planet, with its swirling clouds, oceans, and continents. The ISS, a testament to human ingenuity and cooperation, is the largest object ever built in orbit, having been continuously occupied by humans for over two decades.

In addition to his Earth photography, Wandt also shared images of the ISS itself, providing a Look into the inner workings of this incredible spacecraft. His post reads, “This is how I see the International Space Station from the inside. My working station is an incredible piece of spacecraft engineering.” The images show the various modules and solar arrays that make up the ISS, as well as the incredible views of Earth visible through the windows.

Wandt’s experience on the ISS is a testament to the incredible achievements of the space program. As a private astronaut, he is part of a new era of space travel, one that is opening up new opportunities for individuals to explore space. His mission, Axiom-3, is the third private astronaut mission to the ISS, overseen by NASA and organized by Texas-based Axiom Space.

As Wandt and his crew prepare to depart the ISS on February 6, they will travel home aboard the same SpaceX Crew Dragon vehicle that brought them to the station. Their departure marks the end of an incredible two-week adventure, one that has seen them conduct science research, participate in outreach events, and capture breathtaking images of the Earth.
