SpaceX Breaks Record with 20th Flight of Reusable Rocket Booster

SpaceX Breaks Record with 20th Flight of Reusable Rocket Booster.

SpaceX has achieved another milestone in its quest for space innovation and sustainability by launching and landing a Falcon 9 booster for the 20th time. This remarkable feat marks a significant achievement in the company’s reusable rocket system, which has already launched eight astronauts and more than 500 satellites into orbit. The impressive performance of the rocket, known as Booster 1062, has made it a workhorse for the company, demonstrating its reliability and versatility in various missions.

Booster 1062 took its first flight in November 2020 and has since flown 19 times, with its most recent mission on March 16. The rocket has been deployed on a variety of tasks, including launching GPS III Space Vehicles, crewed flights, Starlink missions, and other payloads into low-Earth orbit. Its impressive record includes a fastest turnaround time of 21 days, achieved in April 2022, and has also launched the crewed Inspiration4 and Ax-1 flights, as well as the Nilesat 301 and OneWeb Launch 17 missions.

On April 12, Booster 1062 will lift off from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, carrying 23 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit on a record-breaking 20th flight. A live webcast of the mission will be broadcast on Elon Musk’s social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), starting at 9:17 p.m. ET, five minutes before liftoff. Viewers will witness the rocket’s climb into the sky, stage separation, and the deployment of the internet satellites, as well as its precise landing on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship in the Atlantic Ocean around eight minutes after launch.
