Samsung Confirms Galaxy Watch Ultra with Rugged Design and LTE Connectivity

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, rumored to take place on July 10, is expected to reveal a plethora of new devices, including foldable phones, smartwatches, and potentially even a Galaxy Ring. The latest leak has confirmed the existence of the Galaxy Watch Ultra, which is poised to compete directly with Apple’s Watch Ultra. The page, initially discovered on Samsung’s support site, was named “Galaxy Watch Ultra” and has since been taken down. However, it provided crucial information about the device, including its positioning as a rugged smartwatch with LTE capabilities.

Before the page was removed, it revealed that the Galaxy Watch Ultra will be available in an LTE variant and will feature a 47mm case, which is slightly larger than the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic’s 46mm case but smaller than the Apple Watch Ultra’s 49mm case. The watch will have a circular dial within a rounded square case, with an orange crown button on the right side flanked by two additional buttons. The casing is expected to be made of grade 4 titanium, with a sapphire crystal glass display.

Renderings of the Galaxy Watch Ultra have been shared online, showcasing the device’s rugged design and potentially two colors: white with silver and black with dark gray. While the exact price is yet to be confirmed, rumors suggest it will be around $700, slightly less expensive than Apple’s $800 Watch Ultra.
