Starship Troopers: Extermination Brings Alien Wars to Consoles

Starship Troopers Extermination Brings Alien Wars to Console

Offworld’s Starship Troopers: Extermination, a cooperative first-person shooter inspired by the satirical sci-fi franchise, is set to exit early access on PC and make its console debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S this October. Following in the footsteps of Helldivers 2, another popular cooperative shooter, Starship Troopers: Extermination promises to offer a unique blend of gameplay mechanics, character classes, and base-building elements that will set it apart from its competitor.

At its core, Starship Troopers: Extermination is a co-op shooter that supports up to 16 players, allowing for intense and chaotic battles against hordes of alien insects. However, what sets it apart from Helldivers 2 is its first-person perspective, which offers a more immersive and intimate experience. Additionally, the game features character classes, each with its own unique abilities and playstyles, adding a layer of strategy and teamwork to the gameplay.

Another notable aspect of Starship Troopers: Extermination is its base-building elements, which allow players to construct and manage their own bases on the planet bugs. This adds a new layer of depth to the gameplay, as players must balance resources, upgrade their base, and defend it against constant alien attacks.

One of the most exciting features of Starship Troopers: Extermination is its single-player mode, which consists of 25 unique PvE levels and follows a spec ops group commanded by General Johnny Rico. The game even boasts the voice talents of Casper Van Dien, who portrayed Rico in the Starship Troopers films, adding a touch of authenticity to the single-player campaign.

Offworld has indicated plans to expand the game’s single-player offerings post-launch, promising to deliver additional content and missions to keep players engaged. This commitment to delivering value to players is a welcome change in a market where many games are abandoned after launch.

Starship Troopers: Extermination will be released on October 11 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and will exit early access on PC. The game will retail for $50 and will receive a physical release, making it the perfect excuse for fans to upgrade their gaming libraries.

Starship Troopers: Extermination is poised to bring a fresh take to the cooperative shooter genre, offering a unique blend of gameplay mechanics, character classes, and base-building elements. With its single-player mode, first-person perspective, and commitment to delivering post-launch content, it’s a must-play for fans of the Starship Troopers franchise and cooperative shooters in general.
