Amazon is preparing to launch a new lineup of hardware devices alongside its upgraded AI-powered Alexa. In an interview with Bloomberg, CEO Andy Jassy hinted at the upcoming products, describing them as “beautiful” and set for release in the fall. While he did not provide specific details about the devices, his comments suggest a significant hardware refresh aimed at enhancing the Alexa experience.
The company has already announced Alexa Plus, an advanced version of its smart assistant designed to be more conversational and capable of handling a broader range of tasks, such as ordering rides and purchasing event tickets. Most Alexa-enabled devices will support Alexa Plus, except for older Echo models. The service will cost $19.99 per month but will be available for free to Amazon Prime subscribers.

Amazon appears to be prioritizing display-based devices in its upcoming hardware lineup. Panos Panay, Amazon’s head of devices and services, emphasized the importance of screens, indicating that future Alexa devices may incorporate more advanced visual interfaces. His remarks suggest that Amazon sees displays as a crucial element in the evolution of its smart home ecosystem.
This focus on screens is already reflected in Amazon’s recent product releases. After Panay joined the company in 2023, Amazon introduced an Echo Show model featuring a significantly larger 21-inch display. This move aligns with the company’s broader strategy of enhancing Alexa-enabled devices with improved visual experiences.
