Cadillac unveiled its latest offerings, the Cadillac V-series Blackwing Collector Series models, at the 101st running of Le Mans, a fitting stage for these Le Mans-inspired sports sedans. Introduced on June 14, the lineup includes the CT5-V Blackwing and the CT4-V Blackwing, each paying homage to Cadillac’s historic racing legacy.

The CT5-V Blackwing draws inspiration from the iconic Le Monstre racer of 1950, while the CT4-V Blackwing mirrors its counterpart, the Petit Pataud.

Both models feature striking visual updates, sporting Magnus Metal Frost matte exteriors complemented by accents of Stormhawk Blue Carbon Fiber and Royal Blue brake calipers. Inside, they boast Phantom Blue leather with Santorini accents, available in Sky Cool Gray or Jet Black inserts.

The cars are further distinguished by heritage-inspired sill plates and exclusive 3-D-printed shifter medallions, each adorned with a serialized B-pillar plaque.

While the focus is on aesthetics and heritage, performance remains formidable. The CT4-V Blackwing is equipped with a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 engine generating 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds.

Its handling and chassis dynamics are highly praised, especially in manual transmission variants. Meanwhile, the CT5-V Blackwing is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 producing 668 horsepower, propelling it from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.

These special edition Cadillacs harken back to Cadillac’s inaugural presence at Le Mans in 1950, where innovative rules allowed them to transform standard cars into racing legends. “Le Monstre” and “Petit Pataud,” as they were fondly named by fans, marked Cadillac’s bold entry into endurance racing with distinctive designs that resonated with enthusiasts.

While the modern interpretations may not achieve the same legendary status, they certainly capture the essence of Cadillac’s racing heritage in their design and performance.

Production of these collector’s edition models is limited, adding exclusivity to their appeal. The CT5-V Le Monstre will see only 101 units made, a nod to Le Mans’ storied history, while the CT4-V Petit Pataud will be even rarer, with just 50 units planned, commemorating Cadillac’s pioneering race entries.

Pricing and ordering details have yet to be disclosed, but anticipation among enthusiasts suggests these models will be highly sought-after, continuing Cadillac’s legacy of blending performance, luxury, and heritage in automotive design.
