At Mecum’s Monterey 2024 event from August 15-17, a standout vehicle on the auction block is a 1969 Camaro Z28 with the RS package, recognized by its concealed headlamps.
Despite the 20,302 units produced that year, making it fairly common, this Camaro stands out due to its inclusion in the renowned collection of Paul Walker and Roger Rodas.
The car, though showing signs of age, still sports its original LeMans Blue paint and early production features such as the non-cowl hood and lack of a rear spoiler.
The interior appears remarkably well-kept, possibly due to some refreshing over the years. Crucially, it retains its numbers-matching engine and M21 four-speed manual transmission.

Paul Walker’s Last Project 1969 Camaro Z28 Auction (Chevrolet)
The Z28 designation highlights a special 302-ci V8 engine, engineered to comply with SCCA Trans-Am racing rules, delivering 290 hp and 290 lb-ft of torque, a combination unique to the Z28.
Originally sold by Martens Chevrolet in Reedley, California, this Camaro has an illustrious ownership history, including Chevrolet enthusiast Merle Duprey and later, Walker and Rodas.
Currently offered by Solo Speed Shop, it’s believed to be one of Walker’s final projects. Accompanied by a Hi-Performance Report commissioned by Walker and Rodas and an inventory report confirming its place in their collection, this Camaro’s value could exceed $100,000 due to its provenance and numbers-matching status.
While pristine 1969 Z28s have sold for over $150,000, and the record is $297,000, recent auctions of Paul Walker-related vehicles have seen soaring prices.
