Audi announced a recall for their e-tron GT electric vehicle after a similar issue prompted action by fellow Volkswagen Group brand, Porsche, for their Taycan.

The concern centers on the front brake hoses, which have the potential to develop cracks and leak brake fluid. This leakage could significantly reduce braking performance, increasing the risk of an accident.

To address this safety concern, Audi is recalling nearly 10,000 e-tron GTs produced from 2022 to 2024 for the United States market.

The Audi e-tron GT stormed onto the scene in 2022, fascinating drivers in the US market who craved a unique blend of luxury, cutting-edge technology, and exhilarating electric performance.

Its $99,900 starting price offered a compelling value proposition for those seeking an edge in the electric vehicle segment. However, the 2024 model year witnessed a price adjustment, reflecting the rapid advancements constantly reshaping the electric car.

Now, European buyers looking to get behind the wheel of the mid-cycle refresh for the e-tron GT face an even steeper price hurdle. This update brings a heftier starting price of €126,000, translating to a significant $171,450 at current exchange rates.

This top-of-the-line trim, the RS e-tron GT performance, boasts the title of the most powerful Audi ever built, packing a staggering 912 horsepower and achieving a mind-bending 0-62 mph time of 2.5 seconds.

While the price tag might seem astronomical to some, it’s important to consider the value-added tax system prevalent in Europe, a factor absent in US car pricing.

With the 2025 models on the horizon, American buyers can likely expect a more competitive price point compared to their European counterparts.
