In a bid to enhance its production efficiency, Tesla has scheduled brief production halts at its Gruenheide facility in Germany. These temporary interruptions will take place on specific days in June: June 7th, 14th, 17th, 27th, and 28th.
This comes after the Giga Berlin plant encountered several disruptions earlier this year, including a March incident caused by an arson attack and a separate four-day halt in May due to logistical challenges.
These earlier stoppages, along with the upcoming planned shutdowns, aim to optimize the factory’s processes to address future production goals.
Tesla is pausing production at its Giga Berlin facility near Berlin, Germany for a series of five non-consecutive days in June.
This shutdown targets vehicle and drivetrain assembly lines, while other departments like battery cell production will continue to operate.
This move has sparked rumors about Tesla gearing up for Project Juniper, a potential refresh of the Model Y electric SUV, their best-selling vehicle globally in 2023. The news comes after reports of reduced Model Y output at Tesla’s plant in China.
