Calling all car enthusiasts! The wait is almost over the next-generation BMW M5 is poised to hit showrooms worldwide by the fourth quarter of 2024.
Traditionally, pricing details stay under wraps until closer to launch. But in an unexpected move, the Bavarian automaker has pulled the curtain back early, revealing the MSRP for the high-performance sedan in the United States and beyond.
This transparency gives potential buyers a crucial piece of information on how much they’ll need to shell out to own a piece of this automotive brilliance.
Weighing in significantly more due to its electric motor and battery pack, the 2025 BMW M5 trades some agility for a boost in power.
Despite packing 717 horsepower and a monstrous 738 lb-ft of torque from its combined 4.4L twin-turbo V8 and electric motor, the added heft hinders its performance. We’ll explore this in more detail later.
For now, let’s focus on the new M5’s plug-in hybrid nature. The electric motor seamlessly integrated into the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission allows for silent cruising over short distances of up to 25 miles according to BMW’s estimates.
Additionally, the M5 boasts a top speed of 190 mph with the M Driver’s Package, or 155 mph without. Pricing has been revealed for various markets beyond the US.
In the UK, for example, the M5 carries a £110,500 price tag, translating to roughly $139,800. But what about its birthplace, Germany? Brace yourself for a €144,000 sticker price, which comes out to $153,945.
