Women in Games Italia, in collaboration with Event Horizon School, has announced the inaugural Women Create Games Forum scheduled for September 13 at Event Horizon’s Milan campus. This event aims to highlight various facets of game development through the perspectives of women in the industry.
It will feature discussions on production pipelines, environment artistry, UI/UX design, and more, showcasing the contributions and experiences of female professionals in gaming.
Key sponsors of the event include Xbox, Predator Gaming (Acer), and Skillsearch, with additional support from partners such as Swipe Right, Women in Games, and Devcom. Micaela Romanini, founder of Women in Games Italia, and Fabio Cristi, project manager at Event Horizon, will co-host the forum.
The keynote address will be delivered by Fiona Cherbak, lead talent program manager at Xbox Game Studios and a prominent advocate for inclusive hiring practices within the gaming industry.
Among the distinguished speakers lined up for the event are Alessandra Tomasina, Senior Producer at Nacon Studio Milan; Arianna Fusetti, Lighting Artist at Frontier Developments; Carola Pettinato, Associate Game Designer at Criterion Games; Lisa Gobbi, Senior Environment Artist at Avalanche Studios; Maria Elena Silletti, Lead UI at Nacon Studio Milan; and Irene Filoscia, GFX/UI Programmer at Milestone Srl.
Each speaker brings expertise and insights from their respective roles in game development, enriching the forum with diverse perspectives and experiences.
